Various - Soul Togetherness 2008

The 9th edition of "Soul Togetherness" delivers a signature mix of the year's top modern soul floor fillers and revivals, and raises the bar again with the sheer quality and depth of the collection. In the wake of his stimulating download EP „Ambient Land“ which surprised as the
first Lemongrass ambient release ever, Roland Voss did some homework to drop his
first ambient album. And he did so with diligence, inspiration and dedication.
As was the vibe on the EP which the basis of the 12 album tracks is taken from,
the overall impression is of some dreamlike atmosphere, where gravity has ceased
to exist and weight has lost its meaning. Extended to full album length,
Lemongrass creates an artfully induced state of relaxation and concentration in
which deeper parts of the mind become accessible and respond with joy. No beats
but a pleasing breeze makes you explore the wonders of your inner self.

The opening track „Star Child“ calls for universal love and takes the listener
on a journey to acknowledge his inner strength and positive energy. We are all
star children ! The gentle keys of „Polar Nights“ take you into endless space,
the purity of which is best compared by ice crystals and a flawless and innocent
white. „Eclipse of the Sun“ is only strings and marks a break in time when you
hold your breath and everything stands still. Then, slight variations of the
sound pattern lead the way for peaceful introspection. „Coral Reef“ wraps you up
in soothing warmth. The tender strings are enhanced by bubbling sounds, like
fresh oxygen in the turquoise calmness of the sea.

After that, it’s time to move on. „Voyager“ has a floating vibe, a feeling of
seeing the beauty of the world passing before your inner eye in the most
breathtaking samples. Or is it you in space, admiring the blue planet earth?
„Moonwalk“ is of such reconciliating quality that it opens up the heart and
firmly plants a feeling of profound gratitude. „Inner Worlds“ is the track which
probably most refers to the album title. Attentive listening reveals some
disturbing underlying sounds and a train-like movement pushing you on. Above
these inner currents is a redeeming hypnotic sound pattern calling for
tranquility. One of the album’s finest moment appears with the opening chords
and gently stroked cymbals of „Water People“. This track is so amazingly
beautiful that it feels like colourful flowers popping up everywhere around you.
Pling, pling, there are some more. The concluding „Lake of Lava“ strikes a more
energetic chord, plucking vibrant sounds and sending them drip-dropping into the
depth of the universal consciousness.

The album which also includes the tracks „Silent Dream“, „Evolution“ and „Summer
Scent“ is so diligently arranged and beautifully crafted that it leaves you with
a unique feeling of harmony and serenity. A truly hypnotic experience baring
your soul’s most positive energy to yourself.

Smoke Cannabis, Fight Cancer!

It’s been used for ages by man, for purposes of getting high and reaching enlightenment.

Does the Cannabis Sativa, a plant that has been used for centuries by Africans and Indians hold the key to something that the American Government may never understand? In a series of funded tests it has been found that Marijuana may even lower the chances of cancer occurring in a marijuana smoker as compared to a non smoker. Cigarette smokers have the highest risk of contracting cancer.

Why was Marijuana Banned?
For the first 162 years of America's existence, marijuana was totally legal and hemp was a common crop. But during the 1930s, the U.S. government and the media began spreading outrageous lies about marijuana, which led to its prohibition.

Some headlines made about marijuana in the 1930s were: "Marijuana: The assassin of youth." "Marijuana: The devil's weed with roots in hell." "Marijuana makes fiends of boys in 30 days." "If the hideous monster Frankenstein came face to face with the monster marijuana, he would drop dead of fright." In 1936, the liquor industry funded the infamous movie titled Reefer Madness. This movie depicts a man going insane from smoking marijuana, and then killing his entire family with an ax. These campaigns of lies, as well as other evidence, have led many to believe there may have been a hidden agenda behind Marijuana Prohibition.

Shortly before marijuana was banned by The Marijuana Tax Act of 1937, new technologies were developed that made hemp a potential competitor with the newly-founded synthetic fiber and plastics industries. Hemp's potential for producing paper also posed a threat to the timber industry.

From that time the US Government has being trying to research into the properties of Marijuana. The funny part is that they have been funding researches that seem to be coming up with plus points for sweet Mary Jane.

10) Marijuana use has no effect on mortality:

A massive study of California HMO members funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) found marijuana use caused no significant increase in mortality. 9) Heavy Marijuana use as a young adult won’t ruin your life:

Veterans Affairs scientists looked at whether heavy marijuana use as a young adult caused long-term problems later, studying identical twins in which one twin had been a heavy marijuana user for a year or longer but had stopped at least one month before the study, while the second twin had used marijuana no more than five times ever.

Marijuana use had no significant impact on physical or mental health care utilization, health-related quality of life, or current socio-demographic characteristics. Eisen SE et al. 5) Oops, marijuana may prevent cancer (PART I): Federal researchers implanted several types of cancer, including leukemia and lung cancers, in mice, then treated them with cannabinoids (unique, active components found in marijuana).
